This fall, families in Las Vegas and beyond will have a new opportunity to build confidence and peace of mind when it comes to firearms safety. Patti Stewart, founder of Defense in Heels and a nationally recognized women’s self-defense instructor, has officially become a certified USCCA (United States Concealed Carry Association) Instructor in Children’s Firearms & Safety Fundamentals.

For years, Patti has been dedicated to helping women and children stay safe through practical self-defense classes, her best-selling book A Woman’s Guide to Self-Defense: 5 Steps to Staying Safe Forever, and empowering safety tools. Now, she’s taking that mission further—bringing firearms safety into the home in a way that is responsible, age-appropriate, and easy for families to understand.

“Firearms are part of many households across America, and children deserve to be educated—not left curious and unprepared,” Patti explains. “This isn’t about politics. It’s about prevention, protection, and peace of mind.”

What Families Can Expect in These Classes

The Children’s Firearms & Safety Fundamentals program is designed to give parents and children the tools they need to stay safe and make smart choices.
